About Vietnam War

One of Dirk Kettlewells passions is American history. There have been a number of events that shaped our country to be what it is today, and one such event was Vietnam War. Below are a facts about the war that you may not have known.

2,709,918 Americans served in Vietnam.
About 85% of returning Veterans were able to successfully adapt to civilian life.
58,272 Americans were killed and 303,635 were wounded during Vietnam War.
75,000 Vietnam Veterans were disabled.
As of July 2011, 1687 Americans are still unaccounted for in Vietnam.
97% of Vietnam Veterans were honorably discharge, 91% of Vietnam Veterans were they are glad they served.
The Vietnam War began on November 1, 1955 and ended April 30, 1975.
Most of the fighting took place in Vietnam however, the war also took place in Laos and Cambodia in the early 1970’s.
